Anniversary

Quinn and I celebrated our 9th anniversary on the 21st of September. We already made some other plans using the excuse of our anniversary to spend money on them. On Saturday we are going to the Killers concert and then next week we are going to go to Las Vegas and see the Lion King while we are there. Since we are doing all that, I thought we should just have a little dinner at home. Growing up I remember a time or two where my mom made a dinner and then had the kids serve them for their anniversary. I decided that we should do that and that the boys would probably love it. Quinn knew what I wanted to do, but I told the boys that it was a surprise for him.

We set up the card table in the living room and put a table cloth on it. Then I added a little candle and the boys picked some flowers from outside to put on the table as well. I grilled some steak and fixed a few other easy things to go with it. I had the plates ready in the oven. I also got aprons for the boys to wear and had them put a towel over their arm. They were so cute. We made little menus for the Le Fancy 9th Anniversary Cafe. The name came from Miles.

When Quinn got home the boys brought us in and seated us. Part of Carter's job was to bring the salt and pepper. He was so excited to do his part he brought it to us before they brought the food out. The boys each brought a plate out to us and Miles brought us some sparkling cider. Carter would come by everyonce in a while and say, can I get anything for you sir? Then he decided to go crazy taking pictures. Thank goodness for digital cameras. After we finished that evening and were cleaning up Miles told me how much fun he had and that he would like to do that again next year. It was a good anniversary. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful hubby and two beautiful boys. They really do make me so happy.

  1. Lovely!

Enjoy the Killers - I'm jealous - and the Lion King, which is fantastic. I've seen it in Boston and New York, and it was phenomenal. The opening moved me to tears both times.
