We thought it would be fun to go up the canyon and have a little picnic with the boys. It was still pretty warm down in the valley and we thought we would escape the heat (the pump on our cooler went out). I had remembered when we did this a few years ago that it was cooler up in the mountains than we had anticipated so I made sure we all had jackets before we left. A little cooler was not quite the right word. It was down right cold. We found a table and ate our little dinner while freezing and then did the walk around the lake. The boys enjoyed it. Miles is a rock collector and I am always finding those in his pockets. Carter happens to be more of a leaf collector. He doesn't put them in his pocket but carries them around. They don't tend to be as resilient as the rocks. Oh well.

I'm loving the leaf collecting Carter. We have a couple of those too and I find many broken leaf bits when I take the clothes out of the washer.
